Gaining followers on your social media channels fast is a very hot topic at the moment. But It’s not about the quantity and speed of getting followers. It is about the quality of followers and how much time you spend with them.

Do a quick search on Google: “get Instagram followers fast”. Tons and tons of articles are popping in the results. 8.420.000 at the moment!

This is one example. Change Instagram for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Snapchat and you will have similar results.

Quantity and speed

Why are people want to have a lot of followers fast? Why don’t they take the time to build a relationship with the followers they already have?

A lot of them think earning money online should be fast. If the start today, the expect tomorrow to be trending online. The expect next week to earn their first money and the week after to be a millionaire.

Online everything happens faster than offline. But this higher the expectation to earning money by growing in an instance. Earning money or growing a business online doesn’t mean you don’t have to put in time and effort! That is the same as offline!

People are not patient

Because earning money and growing a business online, can be faster. But it doesn’t mean it happens overnight. As an online entrepreneur, you still have to put in time and effort to make it online.

You still need a lot of patient, time and failure.

Some things will work with the first try, the other thing you try, fail and optimize. That is the best thing of online. You can try faster, fail faster and optimize faster. That is the best thing of running a business online.

The goal is the most important

A lot of young people forget where running a business is all about. They think the main thing is earning money. But without customers, you will not have a business to run or money to earn.

Yes! The people you try to help, that’s where it is all about. Without them, no business to run!

To go back to social media. If you won’t focus on delivering value to your audience. The right people will never follow you, will never have them, be your potential customer.

If your product is for young teenagers, you have to deliver a message or product that gives them value. You have to write content for them, you have to inspire them.

Don’t try to sell at first place! First, build trust, the second deliver value.

Quality and taking the time

If you want to use social media for your business, take the time to find out who your potential customers are. Find out what their problem is, so you can provide value or a solution for that.

It’s all about getting the right audience, quality followers. I mean to speak up to the right people. Earn their trust, inspire them, spend the time to interact with them. You need to to find out what they need.

Lately, I saw the episode of Marie TV, where Marie Forleo talked with Seth Godin. I recommend to follow them online ;-)

At one moment he said something so precious, that touched me.

Your life doesn’t get more sensational when you have more followers on social media! It is about the interaction you have with the people who follow you. It’s about the quality of the connection, not about the quantity of the connections!

I thought, hell yeah! That is one of the best things I’ve heard.

Better said, it’s not about the numbers, it’s about the quality of interactions you have with people. So please don’t focus on the numbers!!

Be patient

You should be patient with building your business!

Growing happens over time, not overnight.

Like you were born as a baby, you grew to a teenager and finally an adult. That didn’t happen overnight, it took years and years.

Make it your goal to spend time growing and learning.

Try new things to get to the right audience.

When you try, your gonna fail. That is the path to success! Try, Fail, Learn, Repeat. Add this rhythm to your life! Learn to love it!

It’s up to you! 😉
